Lately I’ve been quite interested in Sustainable fashion or Eco-fashion, so I said to myself “Why not make this my first post?”. For those who don’t know what Sustainable fashion is, is fashion that is designed to be environmentally friendly, by using environmentally-friendly materials, such as natural fabrics, recycled synthetics and regenerated fabrics; and methods in clothing production, like the use of fewer toxic chemicals, the use of less land or water, and the reduction of greenhouse gases.
So now that we’re getting closer and closer to spring and summer, here are some places where we can get outfits, shoes and accessories that are stylish, unique, perfect for our sunny days, but most importantly, eco-friendly.
Lavuk by Natasha Gindin:
This eco-friendly, fashion forward line made in Los Angeles, California, uses materials such as organic cotton, tencel, hemp and dead stock silks, to create unusual and constructed looks.
Matt & Nat:
Matt & Nat are a Montreal-based line that are focus on creating bags and accessories for man and woman that are not only eco-friendly, but also vegan. Among the materials they use are recycled paper, plastic and high quality leather alternative.
A line created to manufactured shoes that are not only 100% animal cruelty free, but also uses sustainable and renewable plan-based materials. This line’s mastermind: Elizabeth Olsen.
Personally, I think it's great that designers are taking initiative by creating fashion that isn’t harmful for the environment. So, we can definitely say: Eco Fashion it’s here to stay!
